Join us in showing your unwavering love and support for Santa Cruz County's Wild Things! From the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Gabilan Range, we are improving wildlife connectivity by protecting habitats and building wildlife crossings. We’re restoring flood-prone farmland back to wild wetland habitat. And we’re building trails that connect our community to Santa Cruz's wild spaces. Let's work together to preserve our outdoor spaces for all wild things, big or small!
With your help, we will:
- Protect land to build our next two wildlife crossings—one at Highway 1 for the endangered Santa Cruz long-toed salamander and one for long-ranging animals (like pumas!) at Highway 101
- Conserve 247 acres at the mouth of the Pajaro River to restore marginal farmland to wetland habitat that supports native wildlife and protects the surrounding community from rising sea levels
- Build new public trails alongside farmland and restored wetland habitat at our Watsonville Slough Farm, creating more opportunities for the surrounding community to connect with nature
